finding work like this is why i love the internet website computer machine.
this is from helen barff’s “things from the thames” felt series. she says:
The process of covering things in a skin of felt makes the objects become tactile and puts the emphasis is on their form. The felt covers the entire surface of the objects. It makes them appear both abstract and weightless.
beyond the felt, i identify exploring the shapes of simple and not so simple objects that we don’t think much about. i think that’s what i am attracted to when i take on needle felted replica sculptures.

this is lily. she’s made from a combination of needle felting and polymer clay. marmeecraft has made other “moppets” too.
if that’s not enough of a lure, she’s got some beautiful prints and original art too. marmeecraft does it ALL. clicky.
