for as long as the internets have been luring me into hours of research on my favorite topics, media, people, micro-organisms, bugs, etc., every once in a while i have an inspired “holy crap, why haven’t you ever searched for __________?!” moment.

today, that moment belongs to tom lehrer.

i love his irreverence, poetry, and syncopation. because he didn’t do much performing, videos are rare. i’ve listened to his albums endlessly but now we get to see him too!

below is a classic, but you need to hear this one too. and this one, and also this one.

i’m fighting some serious arthritis flare in my hands this week and have been forcing myself to stay off of the computer…gotta save my hands for felting, you know.

anyway, this is one of my top three favorite cartoons of all time. it stars “owl jolsen”…really.

fredflare has these amazing lego-esque speakers. i can’t imagine the sound quality will please the anal audiophiles in your life but they are so fun. anyway, people with “phile” at the end of their interests are spooky.

i’d like to have one. the green one. no! the black one…wait, no the green one. yeah, the green one is the one i want. clicky.

if i had the ability to produce this in the palm of my hand at will, it’d be my calling card right now.
